Marketing Myths That Refuse to Die

Marketing is always changing, but the same outdated advice is always being given. Many of these myths are repeated in the media and lead to businesses being held back. Here are some of the most common myths in marketing that just won’t go away:

  • “More followers means more success”: A big following doesn’t always mean that all of those followers are engaging, clicking, or buying products and/or services. It’s better to have a small following that’s loyal to your brand rather than lots of followers who don’t engage.
  • “Marketing should bring instant results”: Some strategies can produce quick wins, but long-term growth often takes more time and expecting instant results can lead to you giving up too soon.
  • “Marketing is just social media”: Social media is only one piece of the puzzle. Email marketing, SEO, branding, and so much more all play a role in a strong marketing strategy.
